everyone talks about how u should be nice to retails/hospitality workers, and that’s very true, but can ppl also talk about how u damn well better be fucking respectful and nice to janitors & cleaners & other ppl who do custodial work.
Why not just be nice and respectful to 100% of people even if you don’t think they deserve it? You never know what people are dealing with, yo.
b/c a lot of ppl who do shit like clean for a living work long hours for fuck all pay. b/c people in custodial work are mocked and disrespected and patronized by assholes all the time (particularly uppity middle class liberals who think it’s their job to save ppl from themselves). b/c ppl don’t seem to give a shit about the ppl who have to clean up the mess of others. b/c ppl who are in custodial work are treated as though they are essentially mindless drones who u don’t have to respect and acknowledge as actual ppl.
